Professor Richard C. Beacham, geb. 1946, studierte an der Yale University. Heute ist er Professor für Theatergeschichte an der School of Theatre Studies (Warwick) und Leiter des King’s Visualisation Lab am Centre for Computing in the Humanities am King’s College London.
»Together with Dr. Denard he is currently working on a book (Yale) on Roman wall painting and the theatre. This book uses computer 3D modelling to interpret the evidence of the paintings relevant to theatre architecture. He has worked as a Getty Fellow at the Getty Museum in California, where he oversaw the construction of a replica ancient Roman temporary stage (based on his research) and staged upon it two professional productions of ancient theatre, including his own translation of a play by Plautus. He directs both the Pompey and Theatron projects.«
